India, Feb. 1 -- The government will inject Rs 52,937 crore in capital into the telecom public sector undertaking BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), in the FY23-24. The money will go toward re-organizing and upgrading the technology of BSNL.

The amount allocated to BSNL in this budget, is higher than Rs 44, 720 crore invested during the FY22-23. In preparation for the imminent launch of its 4G services, BSNL is scheduled to begin testing the indigenous 4G solutions this month.

The government has reduced the capital ingraining into BSNL for FY23 to Rs 33,269 billion, at the same time maintaining the amount of the voluntary retirement programme being offered to employees of BSNL and MTNL at Rs 3,300 billion according to the Budget deliv...
