Vientiane, Oct. 3 -- A groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 2 in Vang Vieng district, Vientiane province, to commence the expansion project of the local district hospital.
The project, a gift from the Party, State, and people of Vietnam to their Lao counterparts, was announced during the state visit to Laos by State President Luong Cuong in April.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam said the project demonstrates Vietnam's special attention to the healthcare development and social welfare of the Lao people.
