Vientiane, May 15 -- The historical relic site commemorating late President Ho Chi Minh in the Lao province of Savannakhet has attracted more and more visitors these days as the 135th birthday of the Vietnamese leader (May 19, 1890-2025) is nearing.
The site, built in 2013, stands on the spot where President Ho Chi Minh- then using the alias Thau Chin-arrived in June 1929. At that time, he was staying in Northeastern Thailand. He crossed the Mekong River, travelling from Thailand's Mukdahan to Savannakhet township to assess the political, economic, and social situation to serve the revolutionary activities for national liberation in Vietnam and Laos.
