Hanoi, Jan. 28 -- Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has signed a decision approving a pilot scheme to develop a smart border gate at the Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China) international border gate pair. The overall objective is to transform the Mong Cai border-gate economic zone in particular and Quang Ninh province in general into a major hub for import-export activities, trade, services, tourism and border-gate economy within the northern key economic region. The crossing is also expected to serve as a key gateway for goods trade between ASEAN countries and China, as well as other markets.
