New York (VNA), Sept. 17 -- Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of the Vietnamese mission to the UN, highly valued encouraging developments in South Sudan since the formation of the Transitional Government this year, during a UN Security Council (UNSC) video teleconference on the situation in the African country on September 16.

The event was briefed by UN Under Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowock and Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) David Shearer.
