Hanoi, Oct. 9 -- The Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) has joined hands with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and local authorities to help affected communities in Cebu city recover from the devastating impacts of Super Typhoon Bualoi and a 6.9-magnitude earthquake.
The Vietnamese delegation aboard Ship CSB 8002, led by Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of the VCG's Coast Guard Region 2, is on a working and exchange visit to the Philippines.
In recent days, parts of Cebu city have been severely hit by Super Typhoon Bualoi and the earthquake, which claimed 69 lives, injured more than 150 people, and destroyed over 3,500 houses, causing estimated damage of 1.7 billion PHP (29.3 million USD).
