Hanoi, March 18 -- Vietnam became the second-largest supplier of aquatic products to Brazil in 2024, accounting for 17.33% of the South American country's total import volume and 8.69% of its total import value, said the Agency of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

With Brazil's growing demand for seafood, Vietnamese producers are seeing significant opportunities to expand exports to this market, the agency noted.

Last year, Brazil imported 291,600 tonnes of aquatic products valued at 1.57 billion USD, reflecting an 8.1% increase in volume and a 10.4% rise in value compared to 2023, according to data from the International Trade Centre.
