Vietnam appeals for maximum self-restraint, end to hostilities in Middle East
New York (VNA), April 26 -- A representative of Vietnam appealed to all the parties concerned to exercise maximum self-restraint and to end hostilities, while addressing a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) open debate on the Middle East and Palestine situation on March 25.
In his remarks, Minister Counsellor Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, Charge d'affaires a.i. of Vietnam's Permanent Mission to the UN, voiced deep concern over the escalating tensions in the region.
He affirmed that Vietnam objects to any act of threatening to use or using force, violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of any state, or running counter to international law and the UN Charter .
