Hanoi, Dec. 25 -- The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) has voiced its support for a proposed four-day New Year holiday after gathering feedback from workers, in line with a plan put forward by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
An official document in response to the ministry's proposal signed on December 24 by VGCL Vice President Ngo Duy Hieu showed that 63% of those surveyed backed the proposal, with 25,154 workers participating in the consultation.
Drawing on these results, the VGCL agreed to the New Year holiday arrangement for 2026. Under the plan, civil servants and public employees will take the statutory holiday on January 1, be off work on January 2, and make up the working day on the next Saturday, which falls on Janu...
