Hanoi, Feb. 3 -- A total of 445 traffic accidents were reported nationwide during the nine-day Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday from January 25 to February 2, marking a 36.69% decrease compared to the same period last year, according to the Traffic Police Department.

These accidents resulted in 209 fatalities and 373 injuries, down 37.61% and 38.34% year-on-year respectively.

Of the total accidents, 442 occurred on roads, leading to 207 deaths and 372 injuries. This represented decreases of 257 accidents (36.76%), 124 fatalities (37.46%), and 232 injuries (38.41%) compared to the 2024 holiday period.
