Bangkok, April 10 -- Work began on a stilt house at a memorial site dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh in Udon Thani province, northeastern Thailand on April 9.

This is the first component of the expansion project for the relic site. It includes facilities related to the President's life and activities in Thailand between 1928 and 1929, as well as the close ties between Vietnam and Thailand.

The 100 sq.m structure is a replica of President Ho Chi Minh's stilt house located at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi. The project is expected to be completed on the occasion of the late leader's 136th birthday (May 19, 1980-2026).
