Hanoi, Oct. 23 -- South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa laid a wreath and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum in Hanoi on October 23 afternoon as part of his ongoing state visit to Vietnam. President Ramaphosa also laid a wreath at the monument to heroic martyrs on Bac Son street. The visit comes nine years after his previous trip to Vietnam as Vice President, and is the first state visit by a South African head of state in 18 years. It marks a significant milestone in the bilateral relations, following the historic phone talks between Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam and President Ramaphosa on April 22.
