Soc Trang, Feb. 18 -- The Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang is expediting efforts to complete and surpass its target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses ahead of the September 2025 deadline. To date, construction and repairs have been initiated on 3,650 homes for disadvantaged households.
As of February 18, the province has completed work on over 2,230 houses out of the total 8,586 identified for construction or renovation.
Dang Thanh Quang, Director of the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said a significant number of poor and near-poor households require new housing under this programme, with a total estimated budget of over 445 billion VND (17.4 million USD).
