Hanoi (VNA), Sept. 25 -- A comprehensive reform model of regulations on quality and food safety inspection for imported goods was introduced at a press conference on September 24.

Director General of the Vietnam Customs Nguyen Van Can said the model, developed by the Ministry of Finance, aims to promote the use of information technology and risk management, simplify processes and procedures for quality control, food safety inspection for imported goods and reduce contact points among businesses and agencies, helping them save time and money.

It is expected to protect the rights and interests of businesses, individuals and consumers, and improve quality management efficiency for imported goods.
