Hanoi, March 12 -- The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,758 VND/USD on March 12, down 5 VND from the previous day. With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,996 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,520 VND/USD. At major commercial banks, the opening-hour rates also decreased. At 8:30 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,290 VND/USD and the selling rate 25,650 VND/USD, both down 50 VND from the March 10 morning session. BIDV also cut both rates by 40 VND, listing the buying rate at 25,290 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,650 VND/USD./.
