Algiers, Nov. 19 -- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on November 19 paid tribute at the Memorial of the Martyr, visited the national museum of the army, and attended the launch of the Arabic edition of the book Dien Bien Phu by the late legendary General Vo Nguyen Giap of Vietnam, as part of his official visit to Algeria. The memorial, known in Arabic as Maqam Echahid, is a national landmark inaugurated in 1982 to mark the 20th anniversary of Algeria's independence (1962-1982) and honour those who sacrificed their lives for the nation's freedom.
