Algiers, Nov. 20 -- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse visited Ho Chi Minh Boulevard in Algiers and attended the unveiling of a memorial stele honouring President Ho Chi Minh on November 20 morning, as part of his official visit to Algeria.
Ho Chi Minh Boulevard stretches 3 km along the most scenic east-west axis of Algiers, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Its starting point marks the location where in November 1954, following Vietnam's Dien Bien Phu Victory, Algerian revolutionary fighters fired the first shots to launch an eight-year armed struggle for national independence. The boulevard symbolises the strong bond between the Algerian people and President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people.
