Panama City, Aug. 21 -- Panama is keen to unlock the full potential of its partnership with Vietnam, its Foreign Minister Javier Martinez-Acha Vasquez said at an August 20 ceremony in Panama City celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations established on August 28, 1975.

The event was co-hosted by Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico and Panama, and the Panamanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Martinez called the anniversary a historic milestone to reflect on past successes and forge a path toward deeper, more sustainable and effective cooperation. He hailed Vietnam's economic ascent since its Doi Moi (Renewal) began nearly four decades ago, expressing optimism about the country's important role in Asia and the world.
