Bac Kan, Jan. 27 -- Twenty-five families of the Mong ethnic minority group in Ta Han hamlet in Cho Don district in the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan have found a new lease on life, now happily settling in a brand-new resettlement area, thanks to the swift response from the Ministry of National Defence.
The evacuation was prompted by the alarming sight of numerous cracks in their houses - an aftermath of Super Typhoon Yagi, which struck the country in early September.
Understanding the urgency, the Ministry of National Defence, in collaboration with the provincial People's Committee, sprang into action.
