Hanoi, July 23 -- Nearly 42,000 revolution contributors across Vietnam have received new or renovated homes in the lead-up to War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27), as part of a nationwide campaign to eliminate substandard housing and honor those who sacrificed for the nation.

For Dinh Xuan Luu's family in Kim Phu commune in the central province of Quang Tri, the dream of a safe, permanent home is no longer out of reach. With support from the local authorities and youth union, their once dilapidated, rusted tin-roofed house has been replaced by a newly renovated home with a bright red-tiled roof.
