Jakarta, Sept. 20 -- Medical teams are treating 115 residents who suffered from suspected food poisoning after consuming meals served at a childbirth gratitude gathering in Pakenjeng Sub-district, Garut district, West Java.
Pakenjeng police chief Muslih Hidayat said based on on-field checks and reports, a total of 115 people had shown symptoms of food poisoning as of September 17 evening.
Reports of illness began on September 16, with the peak occurring on September 18, when dozens of residents sought medical treatment.
Also this week, more than 800 students fell ill in two separate food-poisoning incidents after eating free lunches provided under a Government scheme.
