Yen Bai, June 14 -- Nestled in the highlands of northern Vietnam's Yen Bai province, Mu Cang Chai district is rapidly emerging as a sought-after destination for eco-tourism and nature-based retreats. Emphasising sustainable forest management, the district is harnessing its extensive woodland resources to drive economic growth and attract visitors.
Mu Cang Chai is home to nearly 83,000 hectares of forest, including almost 60,000 hectares of unspoiled natural woodland. Recognising this potential, local authorities have embraced a holistic strategy that protects biodiversity while promoting tourism.
For the ethnic Mong community, the forest is a lifeline, said Giang A Long, Secretary of the Party cell of Che Tao village, Che Tao commune.
