Kuala Lumpur, Feb. 13 -- Malaysia plans to introduce a new Cybercrime Bill to address increasingly complex digital threats, including the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) and deepfake technology, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced.

The plan was revealed at a meeting of the National Cyber Security Committee chaired by PM Anwar on February 12. The proposed bill aims to establish a comprehensive policy framework to prevent the spread of sensitive images and introduce regulations on computer data retention to support investigations.
