Hanoi, Nov. 20 -- Malaysia's exports rose 15.7% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 148.32 billion MYR (36.14 billion USD) in October, reaching a record high, the country's Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) said on November 19.

MITI said in a statement that the strong performance was driven by stronger manufacturing shipments and sustained demand for electrical and electronic (E&E) products.

Malaysia's total trade grew 13.6% y-o-y to 277.65 billion MYR last month, while imports increased 11.2% to 129.33 billion MYR. All major sectors posted export growth in October, with the manufacturing sector as the primary driver after rising 15.7% y-o-y to a record 126.68 billion MYR.
