Hanoi, May 8 -- With anthrax outbreaks reported in neighbouring countries, Lao authorities have intensified surveillance of livestock herds across multiple localities, closely monitoring animal health and movements to stave off any risk of contagion. Livestock farming, particularly in large farm districts, are being closely monitored with strict inspections on animals' origins and health before and after slaughter, ensuring immediate disposal of any diseased animals to maintain food safety.
