Vientiane, April 1 -- The Lao Ministry of National Defence on March 31 afternoon sent a 33-member emergency response team to Myanmar to assist with search and rescue efforts following the devastating March 28 earthquake. The team, led by Deputy Chief of the Office of the General Staff of the Lao People's Army Col. Pattana Bouttichak, consists of 33 officers, mostly from engineering and military medical units. They brought along essential rescue equipment and medical supplies.
