Hanoi, March 31 -- The Lao People's Army wants to gain Vietnam's experience in United Nations peacekeeping activities as well as working in an international environment in a bid to build its own force to join UN peacekeeping operations. Lieutenant General Vanthong Bouttavong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People's Army, made the statement during a working session with the Ministry of Defence's Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations in Hanoi on March 31.
