Vientiane, Aug. 19 -- The 80th anniversary of August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2) of Vietnam is not only a source of pride for the Vietnamese people, but also a moment of joy for neighbouring Laos, Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations Bounleua Phandanouvong has affirmed.

Talking with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reporters based in Vientiane, Bounleua said he has personally witnessed Vietnam's transformation over the past eight decades, noting that since the launch of Doi Moi (renewal) process nearly 40 years ago, Vietnam has made great, comprehensive, and historic strides.
