Jakarta, Jan. 30 -- The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) has played a pivotal role in the country's development, according to Veeramalla Anjaiah, a senior researcher at the Indonesia-based Centre for Southeast Asian Studies.

In a recent interview with the Vietnam News Agency, the scholar emphasised how the CPV has successfully guided the country through various economic models, shifting from a centrally-planned economy to a market economy while maintaining socialist orientations. He noted that the model has proven well-suited to Vietnam's situation, resources potential, human capital, and many other factors, leading to significant economic growth and development as well as lifting millions out of poverty.
