Jakarta, April 26 -- Foreign Minister Sugiono will represent Indonesia at the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on April 28-29, marking the Southeast Asian country's inaugural participation as an official member of the bloc. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the upcoming meeting will spotlight a range of global and regional issues, particularly politics and security, global governance reform, and the role of developing countries (the Global South) in promoting multilateralism.
The meeting will include discussions on preparations for the next BRICS Summit, scheduled for July 6-7 in Rio de Janeiro, with a special focus on the formulation of key documents.
