Jakarta, Dec. 19 -- The Indonesia Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) has confirmed that Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan will be ready to function as Indonesia's political capital in 2028.
All construction activities at IKN are aimed at ensuring the city is prepared to assume its role as the political capital by 2028, OIKN Secretary Bimo Adi Nursanthyasto said on December 18.
According to the official, the acceleration of IKN development has been agreed upon through the signing of six supervision work packages for the construction of strategic infrastructure in the legislative and judicial areas, which will serve as the centre of the national government.
