Jakarta, June 30 -- Indonesia held a groundbreaking ceremony on June 29 for its integrated electric vehicle (EV) battery ecosystem in Karawang, West Java province.

The project is a joint operation between Indonesia's state-owned miner PT Aneka Tambang (Antam), the state-owned investment holding company PT, and Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) in collaboration with Chinese firm Ningbo Contemporary Brunp Lygend Company (CBL).

The project, part of Indonesia's national strategic projects, carries an investment value of 5.9 billion USD and spans 3,023 hectares. It is projected to absorb 8,000 direct workers.
