Jakarta, Sept. 19 -- The development of social housing in Indonesia is not only aimed at meeting housing needs but also serves as a strategic driver of national economic growth, according to Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo, head of Indonesia's Housing Task Force.
Speaking at the launch of the pre-cooperation phase of the "3 Million Homes Development Programme" on September 17, Djojohadikusumo noted that the programme could significantly impact the economy, particularly through the construction of millions of apartment units and rural homes, which are projected to increase the national growth rate by up to 2.5% annually.
