Jakarta, Nov. 5 -- Indonesia has received an Airbus A400M military transport aircraft at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, President Prabowo Subianto said the country currently operates two A400M aircraft and will negotiate to purchase four more to enhance the military's air defence capabilities and operational readiness.
He said the A400M aircraft will be used for air ambulance, search and rescue, and disaster response missions. With its large transport capacity, the aircraft can support a wide range of military and humanitarian operations, particularly in emergency medical evacuations.
