Jakarta, Oct. 12 -- Indonesian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono has assured that the country's marine product exports to the US, including shrimp, are safe from radiation contamination, specifically from the Radionuclide Cesium-137 (Cs-137). As reported by the Indonesian news agency Antara, talking with the press on the sidelines of the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (IISF) 2025, Trenggono confirmed that the ministry is intensifying coordination and negotiations with the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to ensure the continuation of shrimp exports, which he assured are safe and well-regulated.
