Jakarta, Nov. 15 -- Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said on November 14 that it is promptly relocating 28 households living in landslide-prone areas in Cilacap district, Central Java, after a deadly landslide on November 13 evening.

The head of BNPB, Suharyanto, said that the relocation is necessary given the unstable soil contour of the areas, which has the potential to cause subsequent landslides.

The landslide has killed three persons while 20 people are still reported missing. The incident damaged eight houses, caused a two-meter-deep subsidence and left a 25-metre-long crack over an area of about 6.5 hectares, affecting 46 residents of 17 households.
