Jakarta, Jan. 24 -- At least seven people died and hundreds are missing after a landslide accompanied by flash floods hitting West Bandung region, West Java province of Indonesia, on early January 24 morning. The disaster struck around 3am local time. Residents reported hearing loud noises before rocks and mud from Pasirkuning village cascaded into the neighbouring Pasir Kuda village. Dozens of houses were buried under rocks and mud, causing severe damage to residential areas near the landslide site. Preliminary figures of local police show that as of noon on January 24, seven bodies had been found. Meanwhile, hundreds remain trapped or missing.
