Hanoi, March 31 -- The National Competition Commission under the Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced that it received a report from Honda Vietnam Co. Ltd. regarding the recall programme for 69 CB650R and CBR650R motorcycles imported and distributed in the Vietnamese market.

The recalled units will be examined and have their gear shift arms replaced.

According to the commission, the manufacturer has indicated that during operation, the bolts and nuts of the gear shift arms of the affected motocycles may loosen and detach, resulting the inability to shift gears.

Honda has identified the cause as the inappropriate thickness of the paint layer on the gear shift arm, which prevents a direct and secure contact surface. As a result, ...
