Ho Chi Minh City, Jan. 27 -- Ho Chi Minh City will spend over 5.9 trillion VND (over 225 million USD) on social welfare activities for the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) 2026. The announcement was made by the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Ho Chi Minh City during a conference on January 26. Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Standing Vice President of the municipal VFF Committee, emphasised that this year's programmes, organised by the VFF Committee and its member organisations, aim to expand in both quality and scope. The core objective remains upholding the city's hallmark spirit of solidarity and ensuring that "no one is left behind" during the nation's most significant traditional festival.
