Hanoi, Aug. 1 -- The Hanoi Department of Construction has requested relevant agencies and units to suspend all road and sidewalk excavation and construction activities across the city from August 11 to the end of September 5.

The move aims to ensure traffic safety, environmental hygiene, and urban aesthetics in preparation for celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution's success (August 19, 1945-2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945-2025).

The department also requested commune-level People's Committees and project management units to accelerate ongoing works and ensure all construction sites are restored and cleaned up by August 10 at the latest.
