Hanoi, Sept. 23 -- Construction will begin on a new public square and park on the eastern side of Hoan Kiem Lake before October 10.

The 2.14ha project, to be carried out in two phases, is expected to create a new community space for cultural activities, exhibitions, and artistic events, while also enhancing the landscape of the capital's historic core and one of its major tourist attractions. According to the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem ward, the square will be integrated with surrounding green spaces, forming an open public area that is both pedestrian-friendly and well connected to the city's future urban rail system.
