Hanoi, Oct. 22 -- A fundraising campaign launched by the Vietnamese Association in Macau (China) has drawn strong support from the local Vietnamese community to help compatriots at home overcome the consequences of recent storms and floods.
In response to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, the campaign, held from October 8 to 20, raised 160 million VND (6,000 USD). Part of the donations was sent through the association's Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh chapters to support families in those provinces, while the remainder was transferred to the Central Relief Committee of the VFF Central Committee to assist flood-affected residents nationwide.
