Hue, Aug. 19 -- Visitors flocked to historic sites in Hue city on August 19 as free admission was offered to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre announced free entry for all Vietnamese citizens on August 19 and September 2, with opening hours from 6 am to 5:30 pm.
On the morning of August 19, streams of visitors began arriving early at the Imperial City of Hue (Dai Noi). The centre deployed staff to guide tourists through the site.
For many Vietnamese visitors, the initiative carries special meaning as the nation prepares to commemorate the historic anniversaries.
