Phnom Penh, April 20 -- Cambodia served nearly 24 million domestic and foreign visitors during its Choul Chnam Thmey traditional New Year celebration from April 14-16, up 9.9% year on year.
The Cambodian Ministry of Tourism reported that the festival saw a record-breaking influx of travellers, including 23.86 million domestic and 115,000 foreign tourists.
Phnom Penh emerged as the most visited destination, attracting over 2.86 million. It was followed closely by Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, Prey Veng, and Battambang.
The ministry attributed the rise to a series of vibrant Songkran events held nationwide, along with the peaceful and stable environment.
