Phnom Penh, Feb. 27 -- Cambodia attaches importance to its traditional friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, President of the Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Khuon Sudary told Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu.

At a reception for the diplomat in Phnom Penh on February 26, the host leader hailed Vietnam's remarkable progress in recent years, including its efforts to streamline the political system under the leadership of Party General Secretary To Lam.

Khuon Sudary highlighted the long-standing friendship, saying that the two nations always stand together in solidarity and support each other in the struggle for independence, sovereignty protection, and the fight against genocidal regime.
