Phnom Penh, Feb. 1 -- The National Police General Directorate of Cambodia on January 31 announced the launch of a large-scale operation targeting online scam networks in Bavet city of Svay Rieng province.

Accordingly, the operation was carried out under the direction of General Sar Thet, Commissioner-General of the National Police in coordination with the prosecutor attached to the Svay Rieng Provincial Court.

Meanwhile, Koh Santepheap reported that around 700 security personnel were deployed in raids on the Van Chheung (A7) casino complex. During the operation, Cambodian authorities arrested more than 2,000 suspects of multiple nationalities.
