Phnom Penh, April 2 -- The Cambodian Ministry of Information officially launched the "Say No to Fake News!" campaign on April 1, aiming to reduce and ultimately eliminate fake news from social networks.

The initiative seeks to ensure information security, which remains one of the ministry's primary missions.

Cambodian Minister of Information Neth Pheaktra said that social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok have become the most popular communication channels, making it easier for fake news to spread.

He acknowledged the growing presence of both real and fake news, particularly on social networks, which has led to public misunderstandings and negatively impacted public order, society, culture, traditions.
