Phnom Penh, July 17 -- Cambodian competent forces cracked down on 5,182 drug cases, detained over 13,000 people and confiscated nearly 1.9 tonnes of drugs and more than 19 tonnes of chemical precursors in the first half of 2025.
These numbers were released at the 10th meeting of the steering committee for the anti-drug campaign, chaired by Neth Savoeun, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD).
Among the cases, 3,086 were related to drug trafficking, transport and storage, resulting in the detention of 6,079 people, and eight cases involved drug processing and production, with 31 people detained.
