Jakarta, June 26 -- A boat carrying 13 football team members capsized on June 25 due to rough waves while navigating the Nenek Strait off the coast of Batam city, Riau Islands province, Indonesia. The incident left eight people missing and five others injured.
Head of the Search and Relief Office Tanjungpinang Fazzli said that of the 13 victims, five survived and eight others are still being searched.
Chronology of the incident, he said, at around 16.00 WIB, the Grandma Island soccer team was about to go to compete for Setokok Island, Batam city. In the middle of the trip, the boat was hit by waves and overturned.
