An Giang, Feb. 26 -- The Islamic community in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang has been actively contributing to local efforts to eradicate substandard houses, helping improve living conditions for disadvantaged families.
One such beneficiary is A Mah, a resident of Khanh Khoa ccommune in Chau Phu district, who moved into his new home just before the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.
The 56-square-meter house was constructed with a concrete floor and corrugated metal roof at a cost of over 90 million VND (3,500 USD), funded through the province's Great Solidarity House programme. For A Mah and his family, it marks the end of nearly 40 years of unstable housing.
